ResurFX™ is a true fractional non-ablative Erbium laser from Lumenis® M22™ technology. ResurFX™ stimulates the growth of collagen in your skin without causing damage to the skin’s surface. When collagen is boosted, your skin plumps, becomes more firm and looks smoother giving you a more youthful appearance. This procedure improves various skin conditions, including uneven skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles including those around the mouth and eye area, acne and surgical scars, and stretch marks.

How does it work?

The M22™ technology allows the ResurFX™ treatment to be customized utilizing a proprietary Coolscan™ scanner, tailoring your skincare concerns and providing optimal safety with maximum results. ResurFX™ gives our clinical staff more than 600 combinations of shape, size and density for optimal results for our patient’s skin type and desired outcome. The Coolscan™ technology distributes the device’s energy evenly making this treatment superior to other fractional lasers.

Downtime is minimal due to the lack of trauma to the surface of the skin, allowing you to return to your daily activities much sooner than with some other fractional treatments.  The ResurFX™ creates heat in the skin which stimulates cells called fibroblasts to generate new collagen.  The result is a thicker dermis resulting in plumper, more resilient, younger looking skin.

Is ResurFX™ Painful?

ResurFX™ only requires one pass to be effective, which makes the treatment faster and more comfortable while protecting the skin.  Prior to treatment, our patients are offered topical anesthetic to enhance their comfort during the procedure. During the actual treatment, we offer a handheld Zimmer cooling device which allows patients to have chilled air cool their skin during the treatment.

What areas can be treated by the ResurFX™?

The laser treatments may be used on the face as well as hands, chest and many other body areas.

When will I see results?

After the first treatment some visible results are seen, but for optimal results, it is suggested that a series of 3-4 sessions be scheduled.  Results will vary depending on the severity of areas being treated along with other lifestyle and demographic factors involved.  This will all be discussed during a consult to formulate a plan for your exact skincare priorities.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Most patients experience little in the way of significant side effects. Some immediate redness will occur but typically subsides in several hours. By the next day, you may experience a slightly bronzed look to your skin. Swelling is common but does not always happen. Depending on your skin, this may last several days following the treatment. The clinician will apply a physical sunblock and in most cases some mineral makeup may be worn if needed. Patients are free to resume their normal activities right after the treatment. Your skin may have a mild sandpaper feeling for several days, but this resolves quickly.
