Body

The appearance of thinning, sagging and aging skin are not just on your face. The hands, knees, upper arms, and ear lobes also show signs of aging, generally due to loss of volume, lack of hydration, and thinning skin. Dermal fillers are an excellent choice to reverse these signs of aging for an overall more pleasing appearance. The hands show age with wrinkles and the prominence of tendons and veins. Knees will exhibit sagging skin, dimpling, crepiness, and wrinkling. Upper arms show age with wrinkles, crepiness, and skin laxity. Ear lobes begin to thin, causing sagging, flattening, and often elongated earring piercings. We use a combination of the same dermal fillers with advanced injection techniques to improve the appearance of the skin on your extremities. These treatment protocols are specific for these areas and should always be performed by clinicians experienced with them.

Cheeks

As a normal part of aging, we lose facial volume, especially in the cheeks, due to loss of fat and bone. This loss of fullness in the ``apple`` of the cheeks causes the cheeks to appear flattened, saggy, or hollow, affecting the whole mid-face appearance. Adding volume to the cheeks with dermal fillers is an effective way to plump the skin underneath, fill wrinkles, lift the cheeks, and return a more youthful appearance. We have several dermal filler products that are excellent for adding volume to the cheeks. Our CANS Nurse Injectors frequently use different filler products together to provide the desired results. Natural-looking results depend on using the right injectable products for each individual patient and facial area.

Chin/Jawline

The chin is a prominent feature of the lower third of the face that defines the overall shape of the face. Many patients are not happy with the appearance of their chin and jawline either due to aging, dimpling, or facial structure. Some want a less square jawline, some a stronger chin, some a softer chin, some like less angular, while others want more angle; often, it is a desire for a balance of the lower face in profile. Injected dermal fillers can enhance the chin and jawline, resulting in a more balanced, symmetrical, and often more youthful appearance. As we age, the chin often develops an ``orange peel`` appearance where the skin shows pitting and deeper lines. This condition can also be successfully treated with dermal filler and neuromodulator injections. A combination of injectable products by an experienced clinician can significantly enhance the appearance with a more aesthetically pleasing chin and jawline.

Eyes

Our eyes are an expressive and prominent feature on the face. Aging of the eye area is not the only reason our patients express concerns about their eye area's appearance. Patients may have deep tear troughs, slight bags, or hollow eyes due to genetics, smoking, as well as aging. Dermal fillers are used to enhance these areas very naturally. For crow's feet and other wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, neuromodulators effectively soften and relax the lines. Dermal fillers and neuromodulators are often used in combination to meet the aesthetic goals of our patients. The specific products used are determined for each patient by our CANS Nurse Injectors to provide a natural-looking, more youthful appearance.

Forehead

Horizontal wrinkles and lines on the forehead are very common and have a variety of causes. Aging is one cause, but these appear in younger people as well. Causes can be excessive sun exposure, dehydrated skin, stress, repetitive muscle movement, and genetics. To relax the forehead lines and creases, neuromodulators are the injectable product of choice. Along with the horizontal lines, many patients have ``11`` lines which is the glabella skin between the eyebrows where you often see two vertical lines. The use of neuromodulators for the forehead can also function as a brow lift. Neuromodulators are very safe and effective but should only be injected by an experienced licensed clinician. Hollowing of the temples is an area that is often overlooked in the treatment of facial volume loss. Depressed temples are a sign of aging easily reversed by the use of dermal fillers. The temples are often treated with fillers in the same visit as neuromodulators are injected to relax wrinkles and lines.

Lips

Lip augmentation with dermal fillers is one of the most popular injectable treatments for men and women of all ages. Although thinning of the lips is generally an age-related problem, many people genetically have asymmetric, thin, small, flat, or shapeless lips. Dermal fillers plump the lips, hydrate, balance symmetry, lift the upper lip, raise the corners of the lips, and refine the shape. Oral commissures (corners of the mouth), and the vertical lines above the lips, are generally lifestyle or age-related issues that the injection of dermal fillers can vastly improve. Dermal fillers injected by a skilled CANS Nurse Injector provide a very natural-looking appearance of the lips. Many patients choose to have dermal filler treatment of the nasolabial folds and marionette lines in the same visit as their lip injections to complete their natural, more youthful look. Many dermal fillers are used for lip augmentation; your provider will determine which is optimal to meet your aesthetic goals and ensure a natural look that enhances your face.

Lower Face

Enhancement of the lower face can be achieved with different modalities. Ultherapy®, ultrasound treatment to tighten skin, is a very effective procedure that tightens and lifts the skin, improving the definition of the jawline, upper neck, submentum (area below the chin), and lifts the cheeks. Ultherapy® is also an excellent choice to improve skin texture on the lower face and improve acne scars. Dermal fillers are also a popular choice for improvement in the appearance of the lower face. Dermal fillers can lift the cheeks with injection to the zygoma (cheekbone), fill oral commissures (vertical lines above the lips), and soften nasolabial folds and marionette lines. This combination results in the lower face looking tighter and fuller. Double chin (submental fullness) can be reduced with the injection of Kybella® that destroys the fat cells causing the fullness. This is a prescription treatment that must be injected by a licensed healthcare professional.

Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines

Nasolabial folds are the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth, and marionette lines are those from the corners of the mouth to the chin. The chief causes of these folds and lines are gravity, loss of volume, and the depressor muscles at the corners of the mouth. Dermal fillers injected into these lines restore volume resulting in the softening of this area. The improvement achieved with dermal fillers is very natural and impactful in reversing these signs of aging.
