Sofwave™ is the next generation in ultrasound technology, FDA cleared to treat fine lines and wrinkles and provide eyebrow, submental, and neck lifting. It has won awards in both New Beauty and Elle magazines.
Sofwave™ uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology with integrated cooling to ensure there is no damage to the epidermis. The ultrasound energy passes through the skin’s surface and heats the mid-dermal tissue at the precise depth and temperature required to rejuvenate collagen fibers.
This is an excellent option during the summer as outside activity and tanning are not restricted, as they may be with lasers. One treatment typically provides noticeable results in as little as twelve weeks, although you may continue to improve for up to six months. All skin tones may be treated as we are not targeting the pigment in the skin.
Sofwave™ will take up to an hour for your lower face, full neck, and above your brow. Your nurse or aesthetician will assess your treatment goals and decide if you are a good candidate for this treatment. Our clinical providers will customize your treatment based on your aesthetic goals. Pre-treatment photos are taken during your consultation, and we will discuss how to manage any discomfort during the procedure. Premedication with Motrin, topical numbing cream, and Pronox (laughing gas) are great options as we want you to be comfortable and excited about your upcoming results. After the treatment, you do not have any restrictions and may immediately return to normal activities.
Our office has been a leader in providing Ultherapy®, another ultrasound device that also stimulates your body to make new collagen. The primary difference between Sofwave™ and Ultherapy® is the depth of treatment. With Ultherapy®, we may treat at depths of 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm, and it is FDA-cleared for use on the chest. Sofwave™ treats only at 1.5 mm, where collagen is most abundant. We will continue to offer Ultherapy® along with Sofwave™, and your clinical provider will determine which will provide the best result for your areas of concern.
