Summer is hard on our skin because of more sun exposure, humidity, and outdoor time. During the summer, I recommend treatments for my patients that help maintain the results from more aggressive treatments in the fall and winter months. For new patients, we are working to enhance the health of their skin and prepare them for fall and winter treatments.
Warm and humid weather skin treatments should be effective in removing dead cells, revitalizing skin, and producing a glow. It is also important to have treatments with little to no downtime to accommodate busy lives and outdoor activities. More aggressive treatments that we provide in fall and winter are a risk in the summer due to sun exposure.
AQUAGOLD® Facials are an excellent option for summer skincare treatment. This includes an enzyme pre-treatment to remove dead cells; the AquaGold® process infuses collagen or a blended cocktail deep into the skin through 20, 24-carat hair-thin needles, followed by an ultrasonic medical device to push the serum into the skin. There is no downtime with this treatment, and it can be done before a special occasion or preferably as a series of three, spaced 6-8 weeks apart to correct tone and texture.
DiamondGlow® is another treatment that is perfect for summer. This medical device exfoliates dead cells, extracts dirt and debris from the cell wall, and simultaneously infuses various serums into the skin tailored to your needs. This treatment leaves your skin soft, glowing and refreshed without downtime. DiamondGlow® treatments are generally spaced 4 – 8 weeks apart to maintain your glowing skin.
Clinical facials like Fire & Ice are a quick way to exfoliate and deep clean congested pores. Our clinical facials are designed for each patient to meet their specific needs and may vary seasonally as your skin and the climate change.
Micropeel is an original light peel in our Aesthetic toolbox. This treatment incorporates dermaplaning, a mechanical exfoliation followed by a light acid to unglue dead cells.
Our goal as aestheticians is to tailor treatments to your skin’s condition, environmental stressors, and lifestyle to keep your skin glowing and healthy year-round. Therefore, we tend to alternate some of the above treatments depending on skin needs, goals, and clinician input.
Along with these treatments, we will also recommend skincare products appropriate for the season. And, always use sunscreen every day!
