Q: Do you perform your surgeries at the office or in the hospital?
A. At Cynthia M. Gregg, MD, Face and Body Specialists, we perform the majority of our surgical procedures in our safe and comfortable in-office procedural suite. Discreetly and conveniently located with easy access to I-40, our office-based procedural suite allows our surgeons to perform surgeries under local anesthesia, twilight sedation, and general anesthesia. Our procedural suite is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), which is an accrediting body that ensures that office-based surgery facilities meet the highest national standards for safety and quality. Our facility is inspected regularly by experienced surveyors that are themselves health care professionals. Cynthia M. Gregg, MD, Face and Body Specialists has maintained its AAAHC accreditation since 2001.
Our experienced certified nurse anesthetists specialize in office-based anesthesia, in particular, outpatient face, breast, and body procedures. We have highly qualified and experienced OR staff working with our physicians, including licensed scrub techs and RNs, providing pre- and post-operative care as well as assisting during procedures. Patients are comfortable in our environment, appreciate this cost-effective option, enjoy the confidentiality afforded by not being in the hospital setting and are treated by our compassionate, caring staff who they know.
Patients and their family members have access to a separate entrance, and family members enjoy a private waiting area with complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshments. After surgery, our staff will review post-operative care instructions with family, and discreetly escort the patient to their vehicle. During post-operative visits, patients can access the office via this separate entrance. Our office is wheelchair accessible.
In cases where a hospital setting is best for the patient, our physicians have privileges at Rex Hospital and Rex surgical centers.
