As new products and services become available, we research and test them before we offer them to our patients. We also stay abreast of upgrades in our field and update our equipment and treatments to ensure we always provide our patients with the most current and effective treatments possible.

We have recently added the new Skin Pen Elite from Crown Aesthetics, which offers several improvements from the original. It has precision handling, upgraded technology for increased comfort, more effective results, potentially less irritation, and better post-treatment recovery.

Combine your treatment with our PDGF+ (platelet-derived growth factor) to take it to the next level. My colleague Jennifer Quigley explained this science well in her December 2024 blog, which you can read here. The key points are it has 1,000 to 300,000 times more growth factors than the traditional PRP treatments you may have heard of in the past. PDGF+ increases Collagen by 250% and Hyaluronic Acid by 800%. Who doesn’t want that? We are seeing amazing results with PDGF+ as both an add-on to treatments such as microneedling and as an injectable treatment.

Our nurse injectors and physicians are now injecting PDGF+ mixed with saline (not filler) under the eye and medial cheek to support the volume loss changes there. It also helps with both texture and tone in this delicate area. Two treatments are typically spaced between 8 to 16 weeks apart and should last one year. We will likely be injecting other areas of the face, scalp, and body soon, both independently and combined with HA fillers. It is an exciting time in the aesthetics field, especially in this regenerative medicine arena. Much like our current use of Sculptra® and Radiesse®, which have biostimulatory properties, this will be another tool in our toolbox.

I’m excited to report that Sofwave has developed a new treatment protocol that our office has implemented called Treat to Total Energy (TTE). We’ve had great success with Sofwave, but this should help standardize everyone’s results. In the past, if we had to decrease the energy to help with discomfort, we would add additional pulses. Now, the updated software calculates the total energy we need to denature the collagen protein in each templated zone. We even get a chime when we have achieved that energy setting. This new protocol allows for much better precision and reproducible results. Our nurses and aestheticians are thrilled about this technology update that will enable us to give you more lifting capacity and skin improvement.

Lastly, I want to update you on Daxxify®, our newest FDA-approved neuromodulator, which we began injecting as part of their Prevu launch for select practices in December 2022. While all our neuromodulator choices are excellent (Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin®), some patients prefer Daxxify. In the clinical trials, 50% of the patients had up to 6 months of longevity, and we have seen similar rates in our office. Patients who metabolize their other neuromodulator by 3 months, most with Daxxify® gain an additional 6 –8 weeks of longevity. The science behind this is that their proprietary peptide has a highly positive charge that acts like a magnet or Velcro on the nerve surface. This enhances how much is taken up by the nerve and provides longevity. Through the end of March, we are offering $50 off your initial treatment of Daxxy®for patients who have not previously received Daxxity®, your first treatment through the end of March. If you like it, an additional $25 off will be applied to your second treatment. Please ask your injector if Daxxify® may be a good option for you. This is a perfect time to try it and save!

As always, we strive to provide our patients with the most advanced, studied, effective, and safe treatments that result in a natural appearance.
