Dr. Cynthia M. Gregg was the recipient of the 2019 Larry D. Schoenrock Distinguished Service Award at the ABFPRS (American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) in San Diego October 2019.

This prestigious award is given annually to honor an individual who has made a significant contribution to the educational and examination program in facial plastic surgery, provided outstanding support for that program’s financial security, and/or offered clinical leadership in building internal and external support for the facial plastic surgery examination and certification programs. This award was founded in 1998 in honor of Dr. Larry Schoenrock who worked tirelessly to see that facial plastic surgery achieve an examination and credentialing process that assured that all certified physicians meet the highest level of surgical expertise and ethical conduct. Dr. Gregg has that same drive to ensure that patients can fully trust board-certified facial surgeon’s expertise. Her commitment to a high level of expertise and training is evident in her being co-chair of the oral exam committee for the past 10 years and serving as an oral examiner for over 15 years.

The award ceremony was very special to Dr. Gregg as she met Dr. Schoenrock’s widow and was able to relate to her that she had taken laser courses from Dr. Schoenrock and that she still uses his techniques in her practice.

Dr. Gregg embodies the qualities encompassed by this award along with her generous spirit of giving back using her surgical skills, exceptional leadership ability, a constant commitment to learning and staying current with all the latest technology in her field, compassion for every person she meets, and her desire for all patients to have the best possible outcomes.
