  /  Blog   /  Anti-Crepe Treatment with Hyperdilute Radiesse®
radiesse cary

As Nurse Injectors, we constantly focus on education and staying up to date on the latest techniques and procedures. Our philosophy will always remain to create natural-looking results and optimal treatment for each patient. Aging and collagen loss are inevitable; however, we strive to stay one step ahead by keeping our patients’ skin abundant with new collagen formations. Areas that show our age and are often overlooked for rejuvenation include crepiness on the neck, chest, hands, arms, and above the knees. We successfully use a filler called Radiesse® with the addition of saline and lidocaine to create the perfect anti-crepe cocktail for these areas.

63 year old patient; 2 syringes of hyperdilute Radiesse® per knee to correct laxity and crepiness.

Radiesse® is a filler that has been around the industry for years. The filler is indicated to fill volume loss and provide a collagen-stimulating action. Patients loved this filler because they could have the benefit of getting an instant volume supplement to shadows like the temples and cheeks and then, down the road, develop new collagen bundles of Type 1 and 3 collagen. However, we know that as early as our 20s, we start to lose our collagen networks. This loss results in an unwanted appearance of lax or crepey skin. In these cases, Radiesse® would not be used as a “filler” but instead mixed with saline and lidocaine used as a biostimulator (collagen stimulator) to resolve crepy skin.

Radiesse® combined with saline and lidocaine is Hyperdilute Radiesse®. This treatment for crepiness is performed in the office in two sessions, four weeks apart. Each session will focus on the primary area of crepiness on the neck, arms, hands, above the knees or chest and the adjacent skin to help “pull up” on the laxity. You will see in the knee photos provided that the patient experienced a fullness below the laxity area of her kneecaps. Her hyperdilute Radiesse® was injected mainly above the kneecap and in the lax tissue allowing the fullness to “lift” as new collagen networks grow.

Because a collagen biostimulator works with your body to build new bundles of collagen, this treatment often takes 6-12 months to show complete results of a more youthful, taught, less crepey appearance.

73 year old female; two syringes of Hyperdilute Radiesse® injected into the hands.

For Hyperdilute Radiesse® to the hands, the ratio of the Radiesse® cocktail is slightly different because we want to use the procedure to assist crepey skin and immediately fill volume loss. This treatment will make the hands not only look more appealing and plump but FEEL better as well. We are very specific about placement and quantity because a little goes a long way in hand rejuvenation. As you will see in the hand photos, the plumping of the backs of the hands provides a more youthful appearance. It is essential, especially with the hands, to ensure that you receive this treatment from an experienced nurse or physician injector.

Our physicians and nurse injectors offer many treatment modalities for nonsurgical skin rejuvenation. We recognize that every human body is different, and our injectors will not treat every patient with a cookie-cutter approach. During a consultation with an injector, you can learn which of our treatment options is right for you to meet your aesthetic goals. Call our office to schedule your consultation.
