Operation Christmas Child

We are thrilled to again participate in Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child. 2025 is our 13th year of helping bring Christmas joy to children in some of the world’s most impoverished countries! These children would otherwise receive nothing and are incredibly deserving and appreciative of these gift boxes.

We hope to collect a record number of boxes this year. Our Global Commitment to helping others is a cornerstone of our Practice, and we are pleased to have a generous community that supports these efforts.

From now until 3:00 pm on Friday, November 21, we are collecting filled shoe boxes. Please drop off your gift boxes at our office during business hours. Click here for allowed contents and packing instructions. Our office, as always, is pleased to pay the transportation fee for each box. We have official OCC shoeboxes available in our office if you would like to pick one up; otherwise, as you will see in the packing instructions, you may use a shoebox you already have or use the link below to have Samaritan’s Purse handle filling and packing your box.

We have a collection goal page on the Samaritan’s Purse website. Click here or use the QR code to access our page. For $25, you can select the items you want to include, and they will handle it all for you.

Please join us in providing gifts for these very deserving children who are incredibly appreciative of the gifts they receive.

We are pleased to partner with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Feeding America program to support families and individuals in our area who are food insecure or in need of basic hygiene and household items.

From July 14 to August 29, we are collecting items for the Food Shuttle’s areas of greatest need. These programs include:

CHILD HUNGER

School Choice Pantries and BackPack Buddies address food insecurity by providing healthy weekend meals for children and accessible pantries for families, fostering healthier communities.

SENIOR NUTRITION

Grocery Bags for Seniors assists older adults on fixed incomes by delivering fresh produce and groceries to their doorsteps, helping to overcome transportation, health, and mobility challenges, while promoting better nutrition and well-being.

THE SPINNING PLATE

The Spinning Plate food truck delivers nutritious meals, provides culinary training, and partners with local organizations to combat food insecurity and supports emergency response efforts.

MOBILE MARKETS

Mobile Markets deliver a wide selection of groceries directly to your car, making it more convenient for those with limited mobility or transportation.

FOOD PANTRIES

Food pantries offer essential groceries and fresh produce through a shopping-like experience, providing dignity and choice while addressing food insecurity.

Donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and household essentials may be dropped off at our office during business hours, starting from now until Friday, August 29. Monetary donations are also welcome in the form of checks to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

These donations make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors who are less fortunate, especially seniors and children who may not have the means to address their basic needs. Giving back to our community is at the core of our practice culture, and we appreciate the generosity of our patients and staff in supporting these projects.

Monetary donations may be made by check, made out to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Please put your check in a sealed envelope with “Inter-Faith Food Shuttle” on the front, and put it in the check donation box at our front desk.

We are pleased to announce our first clothing drive of 2025, partnering with A Note in the Pocket to provide clothing for school-aged children and their families! We will be accepting donations through Monday, April 28th.

This is a unique program in that Note in the Pocket serves as a Triangle clothing resource to the many agencies and organizations already working to help feed, house, and educate some of the most vulnerable in our community. This program provides basic day-to-day clothing needs. They partner with school social workers and human service agencies in the Triangle to distribute clothing to children and their families experiencing homelessness and economic hardship.

When a child is identified as experiencing clothing insecurity while living in poverty, the referral partner requests the sizes and types of clothing needed for the child and immediate family members. A Note in the Pocket provides a mini wardrobe consisting of two weeks’ worth of outfits in their specific sizes. By delivering stylish, good-quality clothing that kids can be proud to wear, they empower students to succeed in the academic environment.

Donations of gently used or new, school-appropriate clothing are needed in all sizes, from newborn to adult 6XL, for all seasons. They request that the donated items be in style, stain-free, and “as new” condition. Socks and underwear must be new.

The most urgently needed items are:

  • Younger Girls: Short & long-sleeve shirts sizes 8 & 16, Jeans & athletic pants sizes 5, 8, & 16, Tennis shoes sizes 1 & 2
  • Younger Boys: Short & long-sleeved shirts sizes 5, 8, & 10, Jeans & athletic pants sizes 6 & 8, Underwear in all sizes, Tennis shoes sizes 5 & 7

SNAP ( formerly known as the Food Stamp Program) does not allow for the purchase of hygiene and sanitizing supplies. With the COVID 19 variants that are spreading, hand washing and sanitizing are becoming even more important. Mask mandates are returning, and many less fortunate families in our community cannot provide clean masks daily for their kids. We are partnering with Helping Hand Mission of Raleigh to supply products for distribution to individuals and families they serve. Please join us in this effort to keep kids and their families as safe as possible as we continue to fight this pandemic!

As the only open-admission shelter in the county, they take in all stray, abandoned, and surrendered pets in Wake County. Together with community partners, they treat and re-home thousands of homeless animals every year. Donations help them provide supplies for the animals they take in until they can find them homes.

From March 17 – April 7, we are collecting supplies to support their care of these animals. We appreciate your donations for this wonderful organization! We have “adopted” HHM for 2021 to assist them with their magnificent work helping disadvantaged residents of Wake County. We were thrilled at our patients’ and staff’s response to our participation in the November drive for food and school supplies for kids. Sylvia Wiggins, Executive Director of HHM, was very appreciative of our efforts and told us she was thankful for the number of families they could assist with our donations.
Quarterly, we will have a donation drive to supply them with seasonally appropriate items needed for their recipient families.

January 15 – February 15 is our first project – Operation Warm Clothing

Items for donation include:
  • Gently used or new coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, shoes, boots, sweatshirts, layering items especially for kids, scarves, jackets, pajamas, rain gear, etc.
  • New underwear and socks
  • During the cold winter months, the need is great for ALL ages (infant through adult) and genders.
Please join us in this effort to provide needed warm clothing for our fellow Wake County residents who are not as fortunate!
