Facial Fat Grafting
As the face ages, most areas of the face lose volume. This loss of volume and relaxation of the fibrous/muscular tissues and drooping of the soft tissues often results in the appearance of wrinkles and laxity of the skin. The hollows of the face can be made even more apparent by sun exposure, genetics, stress, environmental factors and weight loss. Facial fat grafting may be used to restore youthful facial volume.
Dr. Cynthia M. Gregg provides facial fat grafting for men and women in Cary, Raleigh, the surrounding areas of North Carolina, and across the nation.
Fat grafting uses adipose (fat) tissue harvested from the patient’s abdomen, thighs, or flanks using liposuction performed through small incisions that heal with a scar that is nearly imperceptible. This adipose tissue is sterile processed and injected into areas of volume deficiency. Fat grafting can be used to add volume to any of the areas commonly treated with synthetic injectable fillers.
Surgery is performed in our fully accredited surgery center under intravenous sedation, allowing us to offer the highest level of care in a safe, comfortable, and private setting.
